We love our neighbourhood.
Brunswick is part of the traditional land of the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people, who occupied this area, which they named Iramoo, for many thousands of years.
It’s post-Colonial is history is one of a place that welcomed and helped to thrive many migrants who left Europe and the Middle East after World War 2 - giving its places, spaces and businesses an amazing dynamism and diversity.
Time Out recently described the suburb “a community of communities…. with pockets of artists, musos, lefties, coffee nerds and a huge population of LGBTQ+ folks.”
“As well as this, there are Middle Eastern, Greek and Italian communities that have lived in the area for decades.
A melting pot of communities that all bring something different to Brunswick, it’s an eclectic and buzzing place where there is really never a dull moment.”
